Last nights 10,000 kettlebell swing challenge workout constituted 600 swings, with sets of 4, 6 and 8 assisted pistols/one legged squats and 30 bodyweight calf raises, after every 10, 15 and 25 swing rep increments. Plugged in lower body seated nerve glides, after every set of 50 swings, as well as upper body nerve glides and lower body R-Phase mobility work. The warm-up was visual and vestibular work for 15 minutes. Oh hey, want to go to Punta Cana together? 🤩 Ang and I come from personal training backgrounds. We LOVE fitness and love helping others with it. But we quickly realized that the job as a trainer can be draining, and sometimes we forgot to even take care of ourselves. Wanting to seriously make waves with people, we both took on online coaching and partnered with an amazing company to provide top notch workout programs to people across the country. Yesterday we hopped on a video chat to book our plane tickets to our all inclusive vacation we earned through just helping connect people to our accountability fitness groups. PLUS we get to bring our honeys included. Here’s the thing, we would have NEVER crossed paths if it wasn’t for coaching. Our training jobs never offered ANY type of incentives to simply help others within health and fitness. I turned to online coaching because I wanted time freedom. But what I gained is incredible friendships, opportunities I never saw for myself, and a free vacation to boot 😜 Is it too early to countdown? 🌴🍹

Ladies, don’t skip chest day. Here’s why: • Your pecs play a big role in maintaining good posture. The pectoralis major works with your back musculature and helps to stabilize the shoulders. • Having strong chest muscles are vital in daily life- from holding a heavy door, to getting yourself up and down from playing with your kids on the floor, to even pushing a stroller. Your chest muscles are responsible for movement all day long. • Resistance training builds muscle, and muscle burns calories. • “Muscle is metabolically active, meaning that the more of it you have on your body the more calories you’ll burn throughout the day, even when you’re not exercising”, Nick Clayton, M.S., M.B.A. with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Experts know that lean muscle mass requires more energy to maintain itself than fat. The more muscle you have, the more calories it needs (and therefore, burns) every day. • As a certified personal trainer, I would never council a client to eliminate an entire macronutrient or food group from their nutrition, so why would I think skipping an entire muscle group in a training program be beneficial? Fourteen | Evolve Or Remain. . . I’ve been VERY productive these last few days, and after my sessions this morning all I wanted to do was crawl back in bed and sleep. This quote sits quietly on my mirror at home and as I kicked led off my shoes and hopped under my sheets, my gaze fell across it. So after about 30 seconds of kicking the warm fuzzy blanket up and down like a Kindergartener, I took a deep breath, hopped up, packed my bag and headed to my favorite coffee shop @livingwatersbrewing. . Unless you can evolve out of our current state, nothing will change. You will remain. If I decided to shut the blinds and set an hour alarm, I would have been comfortable in that moment. But what good is that? I’ve learned to give myself grace and slow down, but choosing to succumb to comfort isn’t an option when I’ve got intentions to tackle. . Have you ever caught yourself falling into old patterns because it was easier then evolving? Were you able to climb above those patterns or are you still on the journey to evolution?
