Have you ever had a day or week where you didn’t want to lift?
This week is definitely a yes! Mainly because my gut has been wrecked since Monday and having stay close to the porcelain throne (it’s ok trainers can talk about this stuff). So with an obstacle that is pretty hard to control outside of riding it out (nutrition, stress, and sleep are all controlled so it’s a big) I had to sack up and come in and do work. Leg day was sketch to say the least and a normal workout for me took double the time to recover in between sets. But it got done and no 💩 happened!
Today was arm day, so regardless of how I’m feeling, I got to show up and get work done. Because when you are tall with long arms you do not get the pleasure of getting big arms without some damn hard work. Sets and everything took longer to do and recover from but overall total tonnage went up from last week which means we got better! However my energy was crap after even with meals in me.
Overall, my question is, will you show up when it counts most? When you do not want to, body is not cooperating, and mental and physical energy is meh? Those who do show up, will in the long run build character and results that a lot of people will miss out due to comfort and complacency. So my challenge to you is this, commit to your goals for the next few weeks (until January) 100 percent, and see where that gets you!
