It took me years to learn how to look a boy in the eye when I walked past them. • Sound ridiculous? Legit, I know. But for a really long time, I would get so inside my head about limping and assuming a guy would see me a certain way, I just avoided all contact. • • Eventually my brother in law called me out and said “why do you always look at the floor when guys walk by? It’s like you see yourself as an ugly duckling and you need to start acting like a swan. Just be confident- people respond to what you project.” (And yes, he legit used that analogy.) • People respond to what you project. • What. 👏🏼 A. 👏🏼 truth. 👏🏼 • • This doesn’t have to be about relationships, you can apply it to really anything - that’s just one way I personally struggled. • When I stopped making up stories in my head about what people - men in particular - thought about me, and stopped saying negative things about my body, my interactions changed. I was still the same person, with still the same birth defect, and the same body type. I just didn’t define my worth by what I thought someone else may be thinking anymore. • Whether or not you realize it, people will pick up on what you subconsciously puttin’ out. Are you self-conscious to talk about your prosthetic limb? They probably won’t ask you a lot of questions about it. Do you think everyone is making fun of your physical condition behind your back? Maybe people aren’t as open with you because they can sense you’re guarded and feel defensive. • Bottom line: confidence starts with you, and that will affect how you interact with every human being in your life. Start saying positive things to yourself until you believe them. Hold your head high. Look people in the eye. To say it like my brother in-law: be a swan, guys. • Happy Monday. 📷: @jestoncade

Just a little snippet of tonight’s back and bi’s workout 💪🏻 •seated rows 4x12. I superset these with 4x12 reverse bicep curls •4-5 sets of 20 reps of hammer curls. These hammer curls were the superset for the bent over rows in my last video! Got myself up to 115 lbs and this video was my final burnout round •finished up this workout with a killer🥵 stairclimber workout. I did two minutes at 11-15 speed, followed with 10 squat jumps. Today’s #push workout 👇🏼 - Alternating dumbbell curls x20 - Dumbbell shoulder press x15 - Incline bench dumbbell fly x15 - Incline dumbbell press x15 - Alternating hammer curls x20 - Overhead tricep extension x15 - Reverse close grip barbell curls x15 - Plated standing oblique crunches x20 each side - Dumbbell front raises x15 - Reverse crunches x15 - Tricep cable push downs x15 - Pushups x15 - Cable rope bicep curls x15 Break into groups of 3/4 for 4 sets each. 30-60 seconds rest in between each group. Followed by 20-30 minutes of cardio. Felt really strong in my workout yesterday! Details below. Had a push day followed by 20mins cardio to keep my fitness and cardiovascular health up! Cardio is definitely not necessary for fat loss, if that is your goal, but it is optimal for overall health 😁💪 Here’s my workout: * DB Chest Press x12,10,8,6 (as reps go down, weight goes up) * DB Incline Chest Press x12,10,8,6 (same as above) * DB Close grip/Tricep Press x15 x3 sets * Cable chest flys x12 reps x4 * Superset x3 * A. Military/strict press x12 * B. Lateral raises x12 * DB External Rotation x15 x3 (I got this variation of ER from @hollytbaxter ) Finished with 20mins on the treadmill: * 3 mins warm up * 3 sets of the following (10-11mins): * A. High knees 30sec on 30sec rest * B. Side shuffle 30on (each side) 30 rest * C. 🙋🏼‍♀️When you’re doing something simple like, blow drying your hair...and you FINALLY notice definition💪🏽 Just working on myself so that I can work for you👆🏽(working on my NASM certs, currently). So far I’ve put in 3 weeks of running everyday and not really watching my diet so much🤷🏼‍♀️ I cut back on the wine to once a week and only a couple glasses at a time.
